What is the University Heights Women's Walk Club? The UH Women's Walk Club is a vibrant community focused on fostering friendships, promoting wellness, and exploring our neighborhood through walks and social events.
Who can join? UHWWC is a women-centered group intended to be a welcoming community space and is inclusive of diverse experieces and perspectives. We can't wait to meet you!
How often do you have walks or events? We generally have 3-4 events per month, but sometimes up to 10.
What types of events do you organize? Check out our monthly walk schedule. We strongly encourage you to join our WhatsApp group for real-time updates from walk leaders. Direct message us on Instagram (@universityheightswomenswalk) or email us at hello.uhww@gmail.com for a link to join.
ATTENDING AN EVENT
Do I need to RSVP for events? RSVPs are encouraged to help us plan, as we're volunteer-based. Some events are capped due to the requirements of different businesses we collaborate with and if an RSVP is required it will be communicated.
Are your walks suitable for all fitness levels? Yes, our walks are generally suitable for everyone. If we have a longer or more strenuous walk or hike planned, we typically put a disclaimer for those attending.
Can I bring my partner/relative/friend/roommate to walks? Our mission is to create a welcoming, safe space for female-identifying individuals. If they fall into this category, please feel free to bring them along!
Can I bring my child/children to walks? Generally, yes. Some events may include alcohol--please check the flyers.
Can I bring my dog(s) to walks? Generally, yes. Please check each event flyer for specifics.
How do I join the Women's Walk Group? Direct message us on Instagram to join.
Is there a cost to join the club or attend events? No, our walking events are free unless it is a collaborative event at a business or venue that requires payment which will be communicated to event attendees.
What should I bring to a walk or event? Just yourself! But feel free to bring a water bottle, sunglasses, sunscreen, comfortable shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing.

How do I support the group or make a donation? Please visit our webpage for donation options or contact us via email.
Can I suggest new events or activities? Absolutely! Let us know 1-2 months in advance via our group chat or Instagram.
What safety measures are in place during walks? We encourage vigilance, personal responsibility, and respecting others. We may split into smaller groups if needed.
How do I stay updated on upcoming events? Follow us on Instagram and join our group chat for updates.
How do I join the leadership team? Apply via the application linked on our Instagram.
What should I do if I can't attend an event I RSVP'd for? If you RSVP but can't attend, there's no need to notify us. Just attend if you can.
How can I connect with other members outside of walks? Join our group chat to connect with other members.
What if the weather is bad on the day of a walk or event? We will notify participants of cancellations or you can decide whether to attend.
